Pencilled-in supplements on the memorial to Holocaust victims

of lawyer Samu Glückstahl, and the other is that of factory owner and prominent patron of arts Gyula Kaszab. Section 3/j is of great interest architecturally for several reasons: on the grave of architect Lipót Baumhorn, you can read a long list of the synagogues he designed; Béla Lajta' s tombstone was designed by his fellow architect Lajos Kozma; near the latter, you can find a number of monuments designed by Lajta himself, such as those of Albert Mezey, Jakab Kudelka and Zsigmond Lukács from the early 1910s, which are all characteristic representatives of how folk-art motifs were used to create the style of Art Deco. Architect Sándor Fellner designed an unusual, neo- Gothic monument for the grave of his mother at the farthest corner in the back of the section.

Among the famous dead of Section 4, you can find violinist and composer Márk Rózsavölgyi, who was brought here from the Váci út Cemetery at the same time as Lajta’s memorial to the Hungarian soldiers who lost their lives in the 1848-49 War was transferred here. In a part of the section just before these, lie the scholars who were once principals of the college of rabbinical studies: László Salgó, Sándor Scheiber, Lajos Blau, Simon Hevesi and rabbi József Katona, who paid the last respects to his eight thousand fellow sufferers carried off to forced labour camps.

The largest number of artists and scientists lie buried in the group of sections numbered 5. This is where the following were laid to rest: Ignác Acsády, historian; Károly Bein, church historian; Viktor Wittmann, pioneer of aviation; Sándor Bródy, writer; Ödön Tull, painter; György
