János Krausz (1761-98), a Késmárk-born master builder whose work on the reconstruction of the Galgaguta Lutheran church had met with general satisfaction, was originally commissioned to prepare designs for the church. First a prayer hall in 1794 and then a school were built the following year for the congregation by Krausz himself where today’s Lutheran Museum can be found.
