Scheiber that the literary and debating society at the turn of the 1970s and '80s was organised. It was here that Professor József Schweitzer founded the Yahalom Jewish Open University in the 1990s. The teaching activities have recently been extended to include instruction in Jewish history and cultural history, the history of liturgy and the training of social and communal workers as well as rabbis and Jewish school-teachers. With the addition of new faculties, the name of the Institute has been changed to the National Rabbinical Seminary and Jewish University. Its popular temple keeps its gates open to the Jewish youth.
