Funeral Arts in the 19th Century
■ Kálmán Genfer: the mausoleum of Ferenc Deák Gerster and Stróbl jointly submitted their design for the competition to build the Kossuth Mausoleum, and they were in fact commissioned for the task, Kálmán Gerster designed tombstones as well as larger funeral constructions. Among his smaller works are the sepulchres of István Linzbauer (K wall), Ferenc Csepreghy (K 34/1) or Miklós Gerster (K wall). The sculptural design of the latter two was made by Adolf Huszár and the mosaic for the Gerster tomb by Károly Lotz. Among the more important structures in Kerepesi út Cemetery was the Sax- lehner Mausoleum built to plans by Győző Czigler by 1893, only to disappear with the partial destruction of the mural vaults in the 20th century. Its sculptural design was the work of Antal Szécsi, who cooperated with Czigler on other pieces, too, such as József Stoczek's tomb made in 1891 (K 34/2). Czigler designed the first really significant entrance complex for the Rákoskeresztúr 18
