The Parish Church of St. Margaret of the House of Árpád, 1933
■ The nave with the chancel as it does in the foreground of the market building designed in deconstructivist- neo-eclectic style by László Rajk. But when the sun illuminates Miksa Roth's stained-glass windows, the interior will surely make an impression on the visitor. One of the windows, made in 1933, pays homage to Lord Rotheremere, the British press magnate who enjoyed great popularity in Hungary due to his "Justice for Hungary" campaign protesting against the Treaty of Trianon. Its inscription reads, Bene qui sedulo (Right is the one who works with perseverance.) Stained-glass windows were donated, among others, by Gyula Zaymus, the parish priest commissioning the church, and Mayor Károly Szendy. The murals of the main chancel showing the miracles and death of Margaret are the works of Henrik Heintz. "A few days before her death, Margaret saw the glorious mother of God, as she reported under oath (before the altar), descend from the Heavens accompanied by hosts of saints and angels ... and put a crown, with great ceremony, upon Margaret's head" (Hiitory oh the Life oh the Bleaed Margaret, 1274, by Marcellus). The relic from the titular saint of the church was declared genuine by József Mindszenty in November 1948. 55
