The Parish Church of St. Michael, 1930

■ The interior with Pál C. Molnár'i altar The two triptychs on the side altars are also the work of Pál C. Molnár. The centrepiece of the Epistle-side altar shows St. Dominic receiving the rosary (■936-37)- In the Evangelical-side picture (1937-40), the merciful Jesus appears to St. Margaret of Alacoque (late 17th century). Her vision was an important moment in the cult of the Heart of Jesus as a cure for the bane of religious neutrality, as Pope Pius asserted (1865). The pulpit is the work of Károly Antal, dating from 1946. The figure of St. Ladis- las on the pulpit crown was carved by Pál C. Molnár in 1949-50. Ladislas is depicted here with an axe, one of his attributes.
