Tanulmányok a megyei igazgatás történetéről - Zsoldos Attila: A MEGYESZERVEZÉS KEZDETEI A MAGYAR KIRÁLYSÁGBAN(Az „óriás” És az „Átlagos” nagyságú megyék kérdése)
Zsoldos Attila Stephen I in 1009 - which remained the same size during the middle ages after 1009 -, was approximately 4.670 km2, whereas the territory of county Csanád, that consisted of the former area of Ajtony-domain, who had been subdued around 1028, was 36.595 km2. It can be successively justifiable, that „giant”- sized counties were organised on those areas, where (1) king Stephen had suppressed a former chieftain, or (2) a chieftain yielded of his own will to the monarch. However, on those territories, where power of the Árpád-dinasty was undoubted, ,,average”-sized counties can be demonstrated. 318
