"Késő maradékainknak tétessen jegyzésben!" Írásos emlékek Vác város múltjából, 1074 -1990 - Váci Történelmi Tár 1. (Vác, 1996)
Bevezetés
Whenever it was possible, we gave the complete dale of the source, but not the name of the place. We also supplied the old names of the months (e.g. Whitsun's month) and their names in the Reform era (e.g. Summer's month), when they appeared in the source. The headings of the texts in our book are different from the traditional way of title, as we usually do not name the initiator and the addressee of the document, but only refer to the most important event which brought about the document to have been produced. The text of the source is followed by four supplementary data. F = Forrás (= source): the classification number of the source in the archive, museum or library, and its bibliographical data. In some cases we also refer to the original archive source, or to its publication somewhere else. L = Legenda {= legend): here we tell about the circumstances in which the source was born (the history of origin), the precedents and the outcome of the case, and sometimes the connections between the particular documents. M = Magyarázat (- explanation or note): here we explain some expressions and notions not used in our days any more, ore supply some other information for better understanding of the text, and give the Hungarian translation of some texts in full or in part. / = Irodalom (= literature): here we publish some bibliographical data of special literature, giving supplementary material to the source, and helping the more accurate understanding of the text and some further studies on it as well. (But we do not mention here the monographs or town histories, nor popular summaries, as we could have done it on almost every occasion. These works are listed in the bibliography at the end of the volume.) The ,, Appendix" enclosed to the book furnishes some compilation for helping the usage of the book. In ,, Abbreviations and signs" we give the keys to the abbreviations and signs used in connection with sources. „ Local chronicle" contains the list of sources published in the book. We hope this list to give a chronology of the history of the town, and also to make it easier to search for the texts according to their subject or topic The ,,Bibliography" enumerates the sources published before and cited in this book several times, the significant works summing up some partial subjects, and monographs and special books of reference rendering help to elaborate the texts. Further on we give the biographical data of the notable persons; units of measurement and currency mentioned in the book; eminent days of the calendar, and the index of places and index of persons. We would like to say special thanks to everyone who helped to accomplish this volume: to Ms Bernadett Bakács, director of the archive (Hungarian National Archive); Dr Margit Beke, director of the Episcopal Archive (Vác); Dr László Böör. director of filial archive (Nagykőrös); Mr Béla Brozsek, typographer; Mr Zsolt Hörömpő, research worker (Vác Filial Archive of the Archive of Pest county); Ms Katalin Forró, museologist; Mrs Lászlóné Kovács, business executive (Archive of Pest county); Mrs Sándorné Lipp, research worker (Vác Filial Archive of the Archive of Pest county): Ms Borbála Németh, librarian (Episcopal Library.
