A Dunakanyarban a folyó a Börzsöny és a Visegrádi-hegység között halad el. Területe a Duna-lpoly Nemzeti Parkhoz tartozik. A folyó hordalékból képződött a 31 km hosszú Szentendrei-sziget és a város déli végén fekvő Égető-sziget. A Gombás-patak torkolatától északra fekszik az alsóvárosi fú'zliget, és közelében az 500 méter hosszú Ártéri tanösvény. A Duna öntésterületén keletkezett a Ligeti-tó, ami a 19. század vége óta kedvelt pihenő- és horgászhely. A Pokol-sziget régebben a váciak szabadstrandja, pihenő- és sportterülete volt. A Kompkötő- és a Buki-sziget ma a horgászok kedvelt pihenőhelye.

This is the Danube-Bend, where the river runs between Börzsöny and Visegrád Mountains. The area belongs to the Danube-lpoly National Park. The 31-km long Szentendrei-lsland, and the Égető-island at the South-end of the city were formed by the sediment of the river. Fú'zliget (Willow Park) of lowertown is located North of the mouth of Gombás creek neighboring the 500 meters long Ártéri (floodplain) trail. Lake Liget, which was created on the flood pains of the river Danube is a popular fishing and recreational spot since the end of the 19th century. Pokol-lsland (Hell-Island) used to be a popular bathing and recreational area for residents. The ferry-port and Büki-lsland is a favored fishing spot today.
