The performers are artists and artistic groups living in Vác and its vicinity. There are musical events, concerts, dance shows, children's programmes and theatre performances as well. The original idea of organizing a series of programmes called the Worldly Entertainments of Vác on the last weekend of July came from the Year of the Baroque in Central Europe in 1993.The guiding principle was to recall Maria Theresa's visit in Vác and to present the treasures of the town from the Baroque age. Since then a three-day festival has been organized every year. Now the Baroque theme provides only a kind of frame for the events: the opening ceremony, the costume tion from a brochure issued in advance or from the events website. Most of the programmes are free of charge. The local programme of the Summer Jewish Festival is also connected to the Summer in Vác. In the first days of September - parallel with the competition and some performances evoke the age. Besides the local artists, artistic groups, sports associations and civil organisations the sister towns are also represented. There are sports tournaments, children's programmes, a crafts fair and other spectacles as well. Whatever age you are or interest you have, you will find something that may attract you. Visitors can obtain informafestival in the capital city - Vác also offers cultural and gastronomic delicacies. The Autumn Artistic Weeks includes an opera gala, dance shows, historical plays, reading nights and jazz concerts as well as exhibitions and a crafts fair.
