These spring waters provide part of the supply of the lakes in the Grove. Because of their vulnerability and the decrease of freshwater resources of the Earth, the current regulations consider all springs, including the ones in the Grove to be of natural value, and thus they are protected by law. The Gombás Stream, the most important less­er watercourse in the neighbourhood of Vác, joins the Danube after nearly 20 km. A few kilometres back from the tributary there is a nice example of the natural watercourse, the "willow grove of the Lower town”. Despite the strict control of the stream and pollution, which used to be regular, the fauna of the stream is relatively rich, due to the presence of some less sensitive species. Foundation made a 0.5 km long ed­ucational path in the early 1990s. It can be visited individually or as part of a guided tour. A visit to this area gives us a glimpse of the natural treasure of the Danube-lpoly National Park.
