floating mill in the town, while by 1772 this number had increased to 15. The millers'guild was formed in 1771. The bishopric had a mill as well. The Zöldfa Mill was set on the water where the springs of Vácduka swelled into a lake, and there was another mill on the Danube in the northern part of the town at Kőhíd (Stone Bridge). The gate of the Zöldfa Mill, which is the entrance of today's market place, was carved by Mátyás Kmelich.

The guilds played an important part in not only the economy but also in the social life of the town.
