A few words of greeting* by Dr. Frank Dyer ehester, from Boston. A few words of greeting by a layman from faraway America. I am proud to be present at your International Conference of Unitarians in your beautiful capital ot Budapest. It is a rare moment that a young manlike myself, granted permission to speak publicly to his Hungarian brothers on such an unusual, festive occasion, highly appreciated and is never likaly to forget. My British friends have called your attention to the advantages offered to those of you who will go to Manchester College or to Channing House in response to their kind welcome. But, dear friends while Miss Tagart was speaking, I was conscious of the great majority who must remain in the fatherland to finish their education or to receive their higher training for life ’s work. Immediately I was filled with unbounded desire to say words of sympathy to them. Not every young man or woman, indeed, can leave his or her home and go to England. But it is possible to be educated and trained at home, if the young man or woman will only see it so and persevere. I am come here for a year’s stay amoung you. While I am your fellow-worshiper, I wish to become acquainted with every young person of the Unitarian fold, nay, with every one also who would like to be at one with the Unitarians or learn something of them and their gospel! I believe that you have many virtues and aecom* This address should be read after Miss Tagart’s speech. Ed.
