The Hungarian Student 23 The University of Chicago Chapel. Dear Guests, Dear Friends: We have just spent three memorable days together, three days rich in important accomplishments. We have been close to one another and attained a closeness with those American friends who came to our aid in helping us create a new life for ourselves. Together we have organized the AHSUS, whose chief aim is to link our homeland and the Free World—primarily the United States—with an understanding which has never existed heretofore. Much learning, much work is necessary to make this a reality, but I feel here a dedication which guarantees our success. Here before the congress I again thank all those who gave their support and help to us Hungarians. I give thanks to the President of the United States, to the United States Congress, to the leaders of social service organizations, and to every American citizen. I ask that they do not forget us in the future. To my friends here, I wish good jobs for the summer; and in the fall, successful studies and progress ahead. The President, AHSUS
