HELP SPREAD THE TRUTH! Let the World know what is happening in Transylvania! Our Sword is the printed Word! “Occupied and annexed by Rumania, the Hungarians of Transylvania are today fighting a losing battle against their Rumanian oppressors. As second class citizens in their own homeland, the public use of their mother tongue is outlawed, the old landmarks of their culture are being torn down and demolished by the invaders. These invaders are determined to blot out their past and absorb them by force into the Rumanian nation. The only sign of their existence today is their incredible richness of their ancient folk art, but even this is being expropriated by the oppressors as Rumanian art.” “The purpose of this book is to establish here in America and the rest of the English speaking world the TRADEMARK of this enslaved folk art, and to enable the reader to recognize the identity of the motifs of this ancient art no matter under which label they might appear on the marketplace . . .” THE HUNGARIAN TRANSYLVANIAN FOLK ART its origin and interpretation Published by the American Hungarian Literary Guild and the Danubian Press, with map and 54 illustrations. Andrew Ruszkay and Miklós Draviczky, president and vice ?resident of Ft & D Machine nc. of Aston, Delaware County, are among business men and women from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico chosen as outstanding entrepeneurs. A national small business person of the year will be selected from that group and honored by President Reagan at a White House ceremony as part of National Small Business Week, May 8-12. According to SBA spokesman Jim Jennings. Ruszkay and Dravicsky escaped from Hungary as teen-agers and ended up in a refugee camp in Austria in 1957. Their emigration to the United States was sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Chester, which helped to get the men jobs as machinists in Brookhaven. The two spoke no English at the time. In 1965, the men opened their first machine shop in a garage in Brookhaven, and by 1972 employed 24 persons in both commercial and government contract work. A flood devastated their business in 1972, but Ruszkay and Dravicsky rebuilt and expanded the firm with the help of an SBA disaster loan. According to the SBA, the firm handled 200 government contracts in 15 years, and the agency last year issued a certificate of competency for R h D The precision machining and fabrication company recently received a $1 million government contract. The SBA said the company currently has annual sales of $3.4 million and employs 34 persons, a total that is expected to increase. Ruszkay and Dravicsky remain active contributors to area needy families through the Baptist Church in Chester, the SBA said. Nominations for small business person of the year are made by local SBA-sponsored business advisory councils, which forward their recommendations to the national advisory council for the final selections. 1, —TEXT BOOKS SERIES NO.
