THE HUNGARIAN RESTAURANTS OF THE METROPOLITAN AREA ARANKA’S Where Dining-out is an Unforgettable Experience FRANKLIN PARK, N.J. — Here is a new Hungarian restaurant that is rapidly becoming the “in-place” for dining out not only among a rapidly growing number of Hungarians, but also among an ever-increasing number of non-Hungarians as well, who enjoy good food, friendly customer service, and an atmosphere conducive to gracious dining. In fact, customer-demand has grown to such levels since this dining establishment opened for business in October of 1983 for dinner only that it had to open for the luncheon trade. Located at 3185 Route #27 here, in Franklin Park, about mid-way between New Brunswick and Kingston, ARANKA’S is the realization of the dream of Andrew and “Goldie” Dohányos ever since they came to America and opened a small Hungarian restaurant on Easton Avenue in New Brunswick in 1969. Because the food they served was good, they prospered. Then, they bought the present site several years ago, designed the kind of building they wanted, built it from the ground up, and then had their daughter, Eleanor, take care of the interior decorating. Now the restaurant’s Manager and Hostess, Eleanor, who has had academic training in hotel and restaurant management, did a splendid job providing an ambiance which combines dining comfort with a decorative environment that is distinctly Hungarian. ARANKA’S is really designed for gracious dining at its best. Restaurateurs claim that the success or failure of a dining establishment is determined by three factors: the quality of the food served; how it is served; and the environment in which it is served. ARANKA’S meets this criteria in every respect. Its cuisine is a superb example of the culinary art of Hungary. Its Hungarian costumed waitresses provide friendly, polite and prompt service, and its decorative environment leaves nothing to be desired. What’s more, desserts such as Dobos Torta, Dios Torta, Strudels, Cheese Cakes, Tarts, and other pastries are home-baked and mouth-melting. ARANKA’S offers a wide choice of appetizers, soups, entrees, and even seafoods. Entree prices, for example, range from $6.95 for Stuffed Peppers with all the trimmings to $32.00 for a “Wooden Platter for Two,” which consists of breaded veal cutlets and pork chops, pecsenye, filet mignon, breaded chicken livers, served with rice and golden deep fried potatoes. No wine, beer, or liquor is served, but you are welcome to bring your own. Luncheon prices range from $4.95 to $6.95. Closed on Mondays, ARANKA’S serves lunch from 11:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and dinner from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Visa, Amex, and Mastercard credit cards are accepted. April, 1984 ARANKA’S is located at 3185 Route 27 in Franklin Park, New Jersey. The dining room, seating between 120-160 people, is designed for gracious dining. ''Goldie." Andrew, and daughter.
