CLUB NEWS THE AMERICAN­­HUNGARIAN CULTURAL & SOCIAL CLUB IS ONE WHOSE MEMBERS KEEP BUSY WHITING Down here in South Jersey among the “Whispering Pines” is where you will find one of the largest concentrations of retirees in the State of New Jersey, if not in the United States. Here, you will also find a network of “Leisure Villages” unequalled any­where. Here, of course, you will also find lots of Hungarians living out the rest of their lives in happy retirement. And. where there are Hungarians, you are bound to find a club. And, so it came about that the American-Hungarian Cultural & Social Club was founded here, a club whose members really keep on-the-go keeping busy day and night. Parties, dinners, dances, concerts, bingo games, choir singing, group outings to Atlantic City casinos, hobby groups, and much more are almost a full-time occupation for one and all. And, when winter creeps in on them on stealthy feet, what do you think they do? They go down to Florida to wait the cold weather out. of course! And. what do you think they do down in Florida? Keep busy, of course! HAAC’s ELECT NEW OFFICERS NEW BRUNSWICK - The Hun­­garian-American Athletic Club held their annual election of officers recently and the following members were voted into office: President: Louis Toth; First Vice-President: Joseph Vargyos; Second Vice-President: Vendel Varga; Recording Secretary (English): Victor Kovács: Recording Secretary (Hun­garian): Ferenc Rokob; Treasurer: László Szedő; Program Chairman: Dezső Nemeth; Cultural Chairman: Joseph Varga: Discipline Chairman: Julius Bors; Soccer Manager: Tibor Horvath; Fencing Manager: Frank Farkas; Stewards: Charles Somogyi. John Kuhn. Vendel Zimonyi, Joseph Rózsahegyi. István Paar, and László March. 1984 Horvath; Auditors: Andor Miklós, Julius Torok, László Horvath, Jr., and Steve Dolyai; Trustees: Joe Kopácsi, John Bojto, and Anton Levay; Club Manager: John Hatt; Attorney: William Puskas, Jr. In addition to its other activities, the club also sponsors a Rod & Gun Club, a Bowling Team, and a Ladies Auxiliary. It is interesting to note that the club has two Recording Secretaries - one in English and one in Hungarian. THEATRICAL GROUP PRESENTS SHOW CLARK The American-Hungarian Theatrical Group of the American- Hungarian Citizens Club of Rahway, which is under the direction of Joseph Bodnar, recently staged a series of four comedy skits that had the audience laughing from beginning to end. The four skits comprising the performance were "Légitámadás” by Lorincz Miklós; "Virrasztás” by Torok Rezső; “Fel A Kezekkel" by Lorincz Miklós; and “A Narancs” by Torok Rezső. The members of the cast, each of whom were warmly applauded by the Audience, were: Leslie Bagyi, Zsoka Bagyi. John Bali, Terez Bali, Joseph Bodnar, Margaret Emody, Margaret Erdei, Alexander Hody, Frank Hor­vath. Tibor Kacsoh, Irene Korom, Alexander Korom, Angela Horvath Pulitzer. Joseph Tabajdi, and Imre Traczik. The audience was entertained in between the acts by renditions of songs by Alexander Hody, who also sang a duet with Zsoka Bagyi. The Group is now planning for a per­formance during the month of April and, when the cast will be selected and the date set, an announcement will be made.
