I have been enjoying the Eighth Tribe much more recently since the magazine has taken a lighter approach. I find the newsletter from New Jersey very interesting and I wish more areas of the country would contribute. In the South Florida area we have many Hungarian-American residents. I would appreciate knowing of any Hungarian organizations or festivals in this area. My family in the Duquesne-McKeesport area of Pa. do their best to keep their heritage alive. Regards, Darlene Sadlo Plantation, Florida Dear Mr. Chomos, Received the July, 84 issue of the EHT magazine and want to commend you for the article written by you in the Editor’s Comer “Remembering the birth of a Nation”, also the one by Paul Pulitzer in the New Jersey section. I am reading it over several times. We arrived back in the Chicago area elfter a long drive from Ligonier, PA, tired but happy that we participated in the Conference last May over the Memorial Day weekend. The trip was well worth the effort and I brought back with me very useful and enjoyable hours. I am reading the book “The Spirit of Hungary” by Stephen Sisa, from cover to cover. Though I read Hungarian history years ago this book covers so many subjects in a concise form. In the chapter on the amazing Hungarian inventors, I missed reading in it, about the ‘Contect- Eyelens’ which few people know originated in Budapest. The Rákóczi Foundation did a good job in backing this historical book. Keep up the good work, now what we need is more subscribers. Dear Sirs: I noted with interest in the July, 1984 issue, that the magazine will be writing articles about Hungarians West of the Rocky Mountains. I believe an article about the Free Hungarian Reformed Church in Ontario, California would be an article of interest to all Hungarians. The pastor of this church, Rev. Bertalan Negyessy has been very active in building a Hungarian Church and Community in Ontario and he has succeeded. A few years ago, under his leadership a new church was built. The church has a 32-unit apartments for retired Hungarians, so they can be near their church and people who have the same interest. We enjoy the magazine and will be happy to read about Western Hungarian Americans also. Sincerely, Joseph Dauphin Yucaipa, California Dear Mr. Chomos, Enclosed is my check in the amount of $15.00 for my subscription to the Eighth Hungarian Tribe magazine. I am looking forward to receive my first copy, since I have heard what a great magazine this is. * * * After receiving my first copy I am sending a gift subscription to my sister. I am very pleased with my new subscription to the Eighth Hungarian Tribe magazine and I know that she will be also. Yours truly, Irene Karaszi Sudano Niles, Ohio Don’t forget to include THE EIGHTH TRIBE as a Gift Subscription to your Relatives and Friends! As always, Louis L. Ambrose Chicago, Illinois Don’t miss the article by Dr. Molnár in this issue where he engages in a spirited exchange of ideas with Mr. Pulitzer. Send your comments to the editor typed in English double spaced. TO OUR READERS We welcome all the publicity we are receiving, but we must declare the policy of this magazine has not changed, we remain non-political, but definately pro-American. We believe personal contact between Americans and Hungarians is beneficial to both countries. Americans visiting the ‘old’ country are taking with them the spirit of America and if they visit former Hungarian territories we hope they will provide some form of encouragement to those captive Hungarians.
