THE PRE AMBLE OF THE CH ARTER is as fotloui: The Hungarian Eighth Trilte Foundation was officially established on August 22, 1981 at the Hungarian Heritage Conference in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, U. S. A., to preserve and transplant the values of our Hungarian Culture and Religious Heritage our forefathers brought with them to this new land. On May 10, 1779, at Charleston, South Carolina, Colonel Michael Kováts de Fabric)-. the Father of the United Slates Cavalry, was the first Hungarian to give his life for the United States of America — leading his men into battle against the British Army. During his short life in this country, he left a legacy for all of us - “Faithful Unto Death”. We, citizens of the United States of America, who were born of Hungarian parentage, pledge ourselves to live up to the same ideals left to us by those who came from Hungary and helped to shape the history of this land and make it a Nation of Nations.
