If you need motel reservation please let us know as soon as possible. We would like to know if you plan to be here for Sunday. Also we would like to know how many are coming from the nearby areas, who do not need motel reservations, but plan to have meals with us, and attend the banquet. WE NEED HELP FOR THE CONFERENCE . . . Volunteers are needed to help at the Reception Desk, at the meeting and serving meals. We all know that food is very expensive, so to cut down on the expenses for those attending we ask for ‘Food Donations’ from our readers living in the nearby areas. We ask the ladies to bake their delicious Hungarian pastries, cook their favorite Hungarian dishes and bring it to one of the meals: Friday lunch and supper — Saturday lunch — Sunday lunch and will finish the left-overs at Sunday supper. Please let us know if we can count on your help. Almost with every registration comes the request for Hungarian food and Hungarian music. Weather permitting the meals will be served at the Picnic Grove of the Bethlen Home. The Conference starts on August 20th, Friday morning. Registration from 9 o’clock, program will start at 10 o’clock. Tentative program 1. “Hungarians served in the U. S. Army during the Revolutionary and Civil War” — by Dr. Andrew Tibor Udvardy (Brigadier General) President of the Colonel Michael Kovats Memorial Committee. Elmhurst, New York. 2. “Hungary and Hungarians” — the thousand year history by Dr. Andrew A. Halacsy, Professor Emeritus, University of Nevada. President of Hungarian Data Center, Reno, Nevada. — This presentation will be given by Mr. Andre A Shishman, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Vice President of the Hungarian Data Center. Mr. Shishman is the President of Fraioli-Blum-Yeselman, Inc., Consulting Engineers, Norfolk, Virginia. 3. “Traveling through Hungary” — visual and oral presentation by Arthur A. Bartfay, Columbus, Ohio. Networks and Media Coordinator, Ohio State University. 4. Film presentation: “Searching for Worden Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut. — Early Hungarian settlement in Bridgeport. There will be other presentations on which we are presently working-out the details. The Map of Ligonier can be found on page 19th. We ask the producers of the Hungarian Radio programs, also the editors of the Hungarian paper» listed in this magazine to give the widest coverage they can to publicize this Heritage Conference. The Lord Ligonier Inn has been reserved for these days but we have to inform them of the number of reservations required as soon as possible. Room Rates: Single Occupancy $31.00 per night; Double Occupancy $34.00 per night, plus Tax. All rooms have 2 double beds. A person who is coming alone can share a room to cut down on expenses. Please let us know if that is acceptable to you. REGISTRATION FEE for the Conference is $25.00; husband and wife $40.00 — includes the Saturday evening Banquet.
