J- 08908 F — NOTICE — The readers of the Eighth Tribe have suggested to have a conference on subjects related to our Hun­garian Heritage: history, fine arts, etc. Secondly: A decision has to be made on the fu­ture of the Eighth Tribe Foundation’s plan to estab­lish a Hungarian Cultural-Educational Institute. For the above reasons a CONFERENCE will be sponsored by the Eighth Tribe Foundation Tentative date: Thursday, Friday and Saturday August 20, 21, 22, 1981 (August 20th is observed by Hungarians as St. Stephen’s Day in honor of the first Christian King of Hungary.) PLACE: Holiday Inn, Ligonier, Pa. The Holiday Inn has been reserved for these days but we have to inform them of the number of reservations required as soon as possible. Number planning to attend: April, 1981 Room Rates: Single Occupancy $28.00 per night, plus 6 per cent Tax; Double Occupancy $32.00 per night plus Tax. All rooms have 2 double beds. A person who is coming alone can share a room to cut down on expenses. Please let us know if that is acceptable to you. Motel Reservation with fee should be sent in by the first of August, 1981. In case there will not be enough room at the Holiday Inn — Lodging will be secured at other Motels in Ligonier or located nearby. We would like to have from every Hungarian Church — Catholic and Protestant — at least two representatives. Also from every society. Individual participation urged. REGISTRATION FEE for the Conference is $20.00 — includes the Saturday evening Banquet. More information will be printed in future issues. Conference language is English. Those who have not mastered the English language can present their presentations in Hungarian and it will be translated into English. TENTATIVE PROGRAM August 20th, Thursday — 10:00 A.M. Ecunemical Worship Service with Catholic and Reformed Clergy participating at the Bethlen Home Chapel. Afternoon: Different presentation on History of the Hungarian Nation, dating back to 2,000 years, B.C­­Evening: Film presentation. August 21st, Friday: Transylvania, the people, re­lation to Hungary. — Northern Part of Hungary-Fel­­vidék. — Hungarian Art. -— Hungarian Music. — Hungarians in America.
