Page 6 THE EIGHTH TRIBE December, 1980 THE AMERICAN HUNGARIAN FEDERATIONS CHRISTMAS MESSAGE For the past eight decades the American Hungarian Federation has been the official representative organization for American Hungarian affairs. Its activities encompass cultural, charitable, informational and advisory endeavors. The Federation has successfully represented the rights and objectives of American Hungarians without regard to political party, religion or occupation. Increasingly it has also raised its voice and prestige towards the basic thrust of human affairs and fundamental human rights of our Hungarian brethren in present day Hungary as well as under Czechoslovakian, Yugoslavian and Rumanian oppression. Wc, free Hungarians accept this responsibility in the fullest and the most constructive sense. Ours is a commitment and not just a political posture. Your moral support of the foregoing is of great importance, but not sufficient. We are asking all of you within the Hungarian brotherhood, whether through ideological, moral, emotional or blood ties, to GIVE. And to demonstrate your commitment to our cause, give to the point of sacrifice! Dr. László President Tibor Dömötör Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Denes de Torok Secretary Comptroller It was the American Hungarian Federation that organized the Hungarian Relief after the Second World War and thus collected and sent one and a half million dollars aid to Hungary. Now we are again ringing our bells to request help and sacrifice to enable us to effectively raise our voices through lobbying and publications for the Human Rights of our brethren everywhere under tyranny. Our representatives are in Madrid, Spain, at the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe Review Meeting in November, 1980. All of our dedicated staff are volunteer workers, yet the operating expenses are high. Please be generous with your gift to the American Hungarian Federation this Christmas. Please send your tax deductible donation to the AMERICAN HUNGARIAN FEDERATION c/o John Taba, 10195 Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA. 22030. Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas and a blessed, successful New Year in the name of the American Hungarian Federation, Irányi László Pásztor Chairman of the Executive Committee John Taba Vice President Chairman of the Fund-Raising Comm.
