THE EIGHTH TRIBE Page 3 The Foundation also received another kind of financial support; The Foundation has been named in the will of an American Hungarian as one of the beneficiaries — another example to follow in helping the Foundation in the future. With all these new developments the time has arrived to officially form the Eighth Tribe Foundation. Last year it was just a dream of a few, this year it could become a reality. As we mentioned before, the Advisory Board will consist of representatives from our Catholic and Protestant churches, the three Fraternal Societies, other national groups, and individuals from business, and the arts and sciences. Since this is a joint effort by all, I would like to ask that you send me the names of the persons you would like to see on the Board. I will ask the help of some whom I believe should serve on the Board, but I do not want to exclude anyone whose presence would be beneficial to the Foundation. * « * A year ago the Eighth Tribe Foundation began with an anonymous donation of $20.00, and has inspired a few to take up the challenge. Now I would like to share with you the last part of the letter printed in the July, 1978 issue: Now a final word to all my brethren of Hungarian descent, those who just came in the last 30 years, those of you who have built our churches, our great societies: William Penn Association, American Hungarian Reformed Federation, American Hungarian Catholic Society: and above all those of you, who were born in this great country and still proud of your Hungarian heritage... your task is simple ... just dig into your pockets and donate the amount you are able. Together with God’s help we can have a “Hungarian Cultural Institute” a Monument dedicated to our forefathers.
