AMERICAN HUNGARIAN FOUNDATION 177 SOMERSET STREET, NEW BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY 08903 TELEPHONE 846-5777 AREA CODE 201 FELLOWSHIPS AND SCHOLARSHIPS HUNGARIAN STUDIES PROGRAM LIBRARY AND MUSEUM RESEARCH STUDENT EXCHANGE OVERSEAS BOOK PROGRAM CULTURAL PROGRAMS I'm happy to serve a second year as national chairman of the American Hungarian Foundation's annual fund drive. I have good news to report: new funding sources have been developed, numerous projects were implemented and new books have been published by the Foundation. Our 1977-78 goal is $210,000. What Hungarian immigrants, their sons, daughters and descendants have given to the United States and the world is a heritage worth preserving. Leaders in medicine, science, engineering and sports have had a great impact on society and their story deserves telling. Part of this year's support will continue to be used to write a history of Hungarian immigrants in the United States and important sections will be devoted to the contributions of outstanding Hungarians in the world of the arts, business, science and sports. Naturally, this latter area is close to my heart. In the 23 year history of the Foundation, over $400,000 in grants have been given to colleges and universities, students and scholars. We are proud of what we have done to help the future leaders of our country. Won't you send your gift now to help the Foundation provide fellowships and scholarships to deserving students? Your support now will also help maintain the library, archives and museum; and your dollars will enable the Foundation to continue its programs of education, research and culture all over the United States. What you do now to help us will mean a lot. Gifts of all sizes are welcome. Contributions from $25-$100, $500-$1,000, $2,500 and over will be needed. An envelope is enclosed for your use. Sincerely, Third Decade of Development 1976 - 1985 P.S. Let me suggest that you may wish to make a major donation now to establish a fund in honor of your family or in memory of your parents. Secondly, a bequest for the Foundation in your will would provide an important deferred gift.
