A SPECIAL PROGRAM IN YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO On October 23, 1977, at 7:00 P.M., a committee representing the five Hungarian Churches in Youngstown, Ohio will sponsor a program commemorating Hungary’s Fight for Freedom at the Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio. On the program Dr. Ferenc Wagner, who is affiliated with the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., will be the Hungarian Speaker. The Honorable Judge Joseph E. O’Neill from the Seventh District Court of Appeals will be the English speaker. Mr. Ladd Anthony from the office of United States Senator Howard Metzenbaum will also speak. Mr. Frank Mikisits, Recording Artist and a wellknown Hungarian singer from Tatra Records, Bethlehem, Pa., will entertain us with favorite Hungarian songs: hallgatók and csárdás. We will also have Hungarian Folk Dances performed by the Hungarian Theatrical and Dance Company from Cleveland, Ohio. Directed by István Soltay, they will perform dances such as the Huszár Tánc, Kalocsai Tánc, Székely Tánc, and many others. Rev. Dezső Török, Pastor of St. Stephen of Hungary Church will give the Invocation and Rev. Sándor Farkas of the Hungarian United Presbyterian Church will give the Benediction. The Program will be rounded out by the appearance of the Catholic War Veterans, John Buckley Post 1292 and the Cub Scouts Pack No. 16 of Columbiana, Ohio who will open the program with the Presentation of Colors by Bill Peloquin, Officer of the Day. The program will conclude with Mr. Frank Mikisits leading the audience with a sing-a-long of favorite Hungarian melodies. Refreshments will be served with our famous Hungarian pastries. Hungarian articles will be on display and also sold to the public. Admission is $2.50 per person and children under the age of 15 will be admitted free. During the evening Hungarian music will be enjoyed by all with the lilting strings of the Primás- András Magyar and his group. Sponsors of the program are: Our Lady of Hungary Church—Rev. Vitéz Baan; Hungarian United Presbyterian—Rev. Sándor Farkas; St. Stephen of Hungary—Rev. Dezső Torok; Hungarian Reformed— Rev. Kalman Adorján; St. George Byzantine—Rev. Dan Loya. Hostesses will be Dancers from Our Lady of Hungary Church (Az a Szép Dance Group) and St. Stephen Dance Group.
