January, 1976 THE EIGHTH TRIBE Page 9 editoris note pad With the arrival of the year 1976 the United States, a nation encompassing the sons and daughters of many nations, of different tongues and customs, entered its Bicentennial year. Just as the Hungarian Nation became one nation from seven tribes over a thousand years ago, the United States of America is composed of representatives of every nation on this earth blended into one nation over 200 years. We, sons and daughters of the Eighth Tribe, as the descendants of the Hungarian emigrants are called, took part in the building of this nation. As you read the pages of the Eighth Tribe during 1976, you will learn of many who made outstanding contributions, above all those countless persons without whose efforts this nation could not be where it is now. We are small in number, but we are among the first in many fields. The Eighth Tribe also enters its third year of publication. Our Editorial Board is growing as we are trying to reach more and more people of Hungarian origin. We urge you to renew your subscription for 1976 and help us to get more subscribers. Just send us the addresses of persons with Hungarian background and we will send them an introductory copy. # # • We would like to hear from our readers to get their opinions and appraisal of the value of The Eighth Tribe. In addition, send us news about persons of Hungarian origin who have achieved some accomplishment in their fields. The EIGHTH TRIBE P. 0.
