P«ga 10 THE EIGHTH TRIBE September, ly iu I In a previous issue we asked our readers to send in the names of persons running for political office, who have Hungarian background, below we are presenting the only one received at the present time—editor. • * * ERNEST L. KÖNNYŰ commissioned an officer in the Air Force that same year, rose to the rank of captain. He was listed in the 1969 issue of “Outstanding Young Men of America” and, through sponsorship of the California Yaycees, was elected in 1973 to be a lifetime Senator in the Junior Chamber International. Ernest L. Könnyű, 38, manager of corporate internal audit at National Semi-Conductor in Santa Clara, Cal., is seeking the election of office for Congress in the 13th Congressional District of California on the Republican ticket. Mr. Könnyű is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Könnyű of St. Louis, Mo. As an enlisted man in the United States Air Force during the sixties, he was awarded the coveted Airman’s Scholarship to Ohio University from where he graduated in 1965. He was Ernest L. Könnyű and his wife, Lillian, have four daughters, Carol 15, Renata 13, Lisa 12 and Vicki 5. The family lives at 19437 De Havilland Court, Saratoga, Cal. 95070. ☆ ☆ Marian Izabella Youngmayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis R. Youngmayer of Monroeville, and Dr. András Attila Mécs, son of Dr. and Mrs. Kálmán Mécs of Mt. Lebanon, were wed recently at St. Ann’s Hungarian Roman Catholic Church, in Hazelwood. Father Paul Bolvary officiated at the ceremony. The bride’s sister Elizabeth, was her Maid of Honor, and Carol Gallo and Sandra Kulakowski were her bridesmaids. Her youngest Sister Susy Ann was her flower girl, and Susy’s partner was Zsolt Bessko and the ring bearer, his brother, was Bende Bessko. Marian’s brother, Louis was the altar boy. The groom’s friend Dr. Mike Manzo was best man, and ushers were Dr. Jeffrey Lash and Dr. Daniel Ritchey. Marian is now back at Carlow College, as a sophomore in the nursing program. Her husband András a dentist, is busy at his Dormont office.
