March, 1975 THE EIGHTH TRIBE Page Fifteen News About People rn.3 UU L Ur ML Allan fark, Michigan: The installation of Bishop Dezső Abraham as the new pastor of the Allan Park Hungarian Re­formed Church was held on February 23, 1975. Rep­resentatives from different faith of churches wit­nessed this memorable occasion in Bishop Abraham’s life. The oath was administered by the Very Rev. Tibor Dömötör, Dean of the Western Classes of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America. Mr. Fe­renc Lada (who is also Hungarian), mayor of Allan Park welcomed the new pastor in the name of the city Peru, Nebraska: Peru State College students named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for the Fall, 1974 Semester, were honored during the morning ceremonies on February 15, 1975. Amongst the five students who achieved a perfect 9.00 average was Nancy Julia Chomos, Music Edu­cational Sophomore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. San-Miss Nancy Julia Chomos dor E. Chomos of Greensburg, Pa. Nancy was on the Dean’s List for 3 consecutive semesters. She is Secretary-Treasurer of the College Choir; Vice-pre­­rident of the Concert and Marching Band. Pledged to Kappa Delta Phi — the Honorary Educational Fraternity. Capt. Arpad Kery Bethlehem, Pa: City police Capt. Arpad Kery, 60, a nearly 26- year veteran of the Bethlehem Police Department resigned his position. Kery never missed a day’s work since he joined the force on July 16, 1949. Pre­sently he was serving as night watch commander. After leaving the Bethlehem Police Department he will assume his new position as the Chief of Police of Lower Saucon Township. Capt. Stephen Zambo Capt. Stephen Zambo, 65, Bethlehem’s oldest active fire fighter is going to the sidelines after a 46 year career. Zambo became a volunteer fireman at the age of 19. Thirteen years later, he joined the city’s paid department and began a 33-year career.
