The EIGHTH TRIBE * HARVEST TIME CO d ro\ H cn D 0 0 << TJie above sketch depicts the harvesting methods our forefathers used through hundreds of years. Even today, a similar scene might he taking place in some remote section of Hungary. The rising sun found the harvesters already at work in the fields. They worked beyond sunset, taking short breaks during the day. While both men and women work diligently, a little girl distributes water from a “korsó” to quench a thirst brought on by the hot sun. At noon, the men remove their hats and look toward the ringing village church bells. The bells toll to remind them all of God’s blessings, that as long as there is bread on the table, none will go hungry.
