A Tribute to Father A father is a guiding light Sent to us from above. He listens to our sorrows And soothes them with his love. A father is a teacher Whose place no one could take, For he's the source from which We learn to think and navigate. A father is a gift from God From which we learn to be Patient, strong and loving, Filled with integrity. National Nursing Home Week The American Health Care Association recognizes May 14th through the 20th as National Nursing Home Week. This year's theme is "Legends in Our Own Time". Legends play an important role in anyone's life. They can display stories of personal bravery, great deeds, kindness, compassion and the ability to overcome obstacles that may be holding them back. The residents, staff and volunteers who we see daily at Bethlen Home have made their own contributions and are themselves living legends. The Activity Department will be featuring several residents who have inspired us over the years during National Nursing Home Week. Bethlen Home and Ligonier Gardens will also hold luncheons to honor their staff for the hard work, support and dedication they give to our residents. Mother There is no other one on earth Who'd fill my mother's place; She's always gentle, kind, and true And wears a smiling face. She dried my tears when I was small And bandaged many hurts; She tenderly would clean me up When I fell in the dirt. So lovingly she cared for me And often gave a kiss When childish troubles loomed up high And too when I was sick. At night she got up many times To feed and care for me; And even though she was too tired, She'd first look out for me. She'd lovingly caress me when I thought that no one cared. She hugged me tight and soothingly Would often send up prayers. So through it all the bonds did grow Between my mom and me, And so I say she is the best And dearest still to me. We are Doers of the Word." James 1:22,25 5
