Activity Highlights Pat Armel Director of Development A FUN WEEKEND The Annual HRFA/Bethlen Communities Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Champion Lakes Golf Club near Ligonier, PA. There were 125 golfers and over 70 Hole Sponsors. Rev. Imre A. Bertalan gave the invocation at the start of the event. A special for this year was Million Dollar Shoot-out. Sorry to say “No Winner” this year. A dinner was held following the tournament with 151 guests. Mrs. Pat Armel, Rev. Leslie E. Martin and Mr. George Dózsa presented plaques to this year’s honorées: Mrs. Prosser Mellon, Capital Campaign Chairperson; Mr. George Dózsa, Board of Directors Chairperson of Bethlen Communities; and in Memory of Mr. William Bela Puskas, Treasurer of the HRFA. Mrs. Puskas accepted the honor. The evening ended with door prizes and drawings. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Therapy Department of the nursing home. On Sunday, July 17, 2005, the Annual Hungarian Picnic was held at the Picnic Grove. The day began with a Chapel Service at 11:00 a.m. About 180 guests enjoyed a day of fun, fellowship and delicious food. A “Thank You” to Murin Paving and Excavating of Glassport, PA for donating and roasting the pig and lamb for the picnic. We also extend a “Thank You” to the William Penn Association for donating the beer and soda. We were entertained all afternoon by the music of Dorothy and Company.
