Cultural Center Kellemes Húsveti Ünnepeket kívánunk mindenkinek, erőben és egészségben! HÚSVÉT Nagypénteken sokat sírtak, Sok himes tojást megírtak. Adjanak hát nekem abból, A pirossal megírottból. Húsvét van ma, most örvendjünk, Locsolásra most készüljünk, Jó Jézusunk drága bérrel, Öntözött piros vérével. Húsvét emlékezetére Rózsavíz van a kezembe, Lapos tarsoly a nyakamba, Tegyél egy pár tojást abba! Spring is just around the corner with many new upcoming events. The Bethlen Cultural Center Staff spent the cold snowy winter months on various projects. January and February days were spent in our archives, sorting thru the many important historical pictures and documents that chronicle our rich Hungarian-American history. For February 14 - our staff baked and decorated over 200 Valentine-Honeycakes (Mézeskalács) for our residents here at the Home, Ligonier Gardens and the Cottages. This year we made the traditional heart forms with lace frosting. We used the recipe found in The Bethlen Home Cookbook, submitted by Violet Adorján. It is excellent - we highly recommend it! February Highlights: Tuesday, February 24th: 7:30 PM Pittsburgh, PA Gázsa Ensemble Tamburitzans of Duquesne University Hall, 1801 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 877-826- 6437 March Highlights: Sunday, March 14th: 1848 Hungarian Independence Day Program at McKeesport Hungarian Club. Monday, March 15th: 1848 Hungarian Independence Day Program in The Bethlen Home Dining Room at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Luncheon and Special Display. Saturday, March 20th: Easter Egg Decorating - Himes Tojás - Ligonier Library at 2:00 p.m. Children’s Program. March and April Egg Decorating Demonstrations offered by the Cultural Center to area clubs and churches. The Bethlen Home Cultural Center wishes everyone a Happy and Blessed Easter Season! We will be remembering and celebrating many of our Hungarian Easter traditions here in the Bethlen Community, with our residents.
