glctüntp J|tgï)ltgï)t2i VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR This year The Bethlen Home will be honoring two very special ladies as the “Volunteer of the Year”. Always with a smile on their faces, you can find these ladies helping our residents and activity staff throughout the week with various activities from Bingo, outings, social events and even playing Santa’s elves during the holiday season. Thank you for your compassion, dedication, and support you both have given to our Residents, Staff and Activity Department throughout the year. May you both be blessed for your generous hearts. “Congratulations” to DaLona Leonard and Peg Perry Volunteer of the Year (left to right) DaLona Leonard and Peg Perry A SPECIAL VOLUNTEER ACROSS THE MILES In 1963 this special lady from Fairport Harbor, Ohio volunteered to send out Birthday Cards each month to our residents of The Bethlen Home. Although I have never met this special lady, “Mrs. James Varga”, during my 21 years of employment here at The Bethlen Home, she has always been faithful and dedicated in sending out her cards each month for our residents’ special day. I recently received a letter from Mrs. Varga telling me she is retiring from her duties due to her moving out of state to live with her daughter. The amazing thing is I never realized this special lady was 96 years young. Mrs. Varga, you will be missed for the many kindnesses you have shown over the years to The Bethlen Home and its residents. May God bless you with many more years of health and happiness with your daughter. Sincerely, Sherry A. Humbertson, Activity Director NEWS FROM THE DIETARY DEPARTMENT We are now offering a Selective Menu for all our residents. Since starting the Selective Menu a month ago, our residents are enjoying selecting their meals. If any family wishes to come in and help their loved one fill out their menu, they are welcome to do so. If you have any questions, contact the Dietary Manager, Anita Miller.
