During the weeks ahead, two beautiful sounds will be heard, emanating from the hillsides surrounding The Bethlen Home. The first of these sounds will be the rumble of earth moving equipment, as the long-awaited construction of the new nursing home begins. Finally, by the Grace of Almighty God, and through the generous support of so many Friends, financing, at a level adequate for beginning the project, is in place. By the time this letter is in your hands, site work will be underway, with dedication of the new nursing home scheduled to take place in September of 2004, during the Quadrennial Convention of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. All going well, the residents of The Bethlen Home will occupy the new facility early in 2005. The second of these beautiful sounds will grace the hills and valleys of Ligonier as it did the region of Judea many years ago. The angel chorus will sing: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will among men!” (Luke 2:14) The Gift of Christmas: the arrival of our Lord, in order to bless and save humankind. During this Advent - Christmas Season, the residents and staff of the The Bethlen Home will celebrate and give thanks for both of these beautiful sounds! We will thank God for the many Supporters and Friends of the The Bethlen Home, the Ligonier Gardens, the Retirement Community and the Cultural Center. We will thank Him for the nearly 200 residents, who, in one facility or another, are entrusted to the Home’s care. We will thank God for Nagy kiváltság számomra, hogy Otthonunk köszöntését tolmácsolhatom ez áldott adventi és karácsonyi időszak kezdetén. Az előttünk levő hetekben két örvendetes hang veri fel az otthont környező domboldal csendjét. Az egyik a földtúró gépek zaja, amely az építkezés rég várt kezdetét jelent. Isten Kegyelméből és az adakozók támogatásából együtt van az összeg, amely szükséges a talajt előkészítő munkálatokra. Ez ünnepi köszöntés érkezésekor a munka már megkezdődött. Az építkezés befejezésének tervezett időpontja, az új otthon felszentelésének remélt dátuma, 2004 szeptembere, az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyesület konvenciója. Ha minden jól megy az új épület használatba vétele 2005 elején kezdetét veheti. A másik hang, amit a domboldal visszaver az, ami először Júdca mezején hangzott: Az angyalok kórusa: “Dicsőség a magasságos mennyekben az Istennek, és a földön békesség, és az emberekhez jóakarat”. (Lukács 2, 14) Váltságunk és üdvösségünk Krisztusban földre szállt. Ebben az áldott időszakban a Bethlen Otthon gondozottjai és gondozói és minden lakója hálát ad mindkét hangért, azért amit a gépek zakatolnak, de főleg azért amelyet mennyei és földi karok zengnek. Hálát adunk Istennek és hálát adunk minden embernek, a Bethlen Otthon, a Ligonieri Kert, a Nyugdíjasok Falva, a Kulturális Központ minden támogatójának. Hálát adunk a gondjainkra bízott csaknerm 200 drága életért és megannyi munkásért és alkalmazottért, akiknek gondozásán keresztül Isten szeretete eléri minden arra szoruló gyermekét.
