"THE GIVING OF TIME" "The Giving of Time" was this year's theme for The Bethlen Home Volunteer Luncheon, which was held on Thursday, April 17. Volunteer, Helen Rose was presented the Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedication, time and support she has given to the nursing home and Ligonier Gardens. She shares her gift of music each Sunday playing for three church services and wherever needed. At Right: Decorating "Mézes Pagacsa" - Honeycakes for Valentines' Day. At Left: Executive Director Rev. Imre A. Bertalan giving the Invocation in Columbus, Ohio for the Kossuth Lajos Commerative Program. At Right: Ohio State Rep. Peter Ujvági presenting Mr. Anthony Beke and Mr. George Dózsa, Chairmen of the Boards of William Penn Association and Hungarian Reformed Federation of America respectively, with a proclamation from the Ohio Assembly commemorating the speech given by Kossuth Lajos 151 years ago. Each volunteer was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a clock for their gift. Representatives from several community service groups that provide a monthly service and entertainment to our residents along with our regular volunteer visitors attended. The Dining Room was decorated in bright spring colors. Our most outstanding decoration was provided by our talented artists "Baba and Edith" representing The Bethlen Home Cultural Center. They designed favors and centerpiece cookies that looked like clocks for our decorations. Needless to say, they were the hit of the luncheon! "Many Thanks" to the Cultural Center, Activity Staff, Dietary Department and Department Heads for all their help during the luncheon. Pictured are several photos of the volunteers and our special timepiece centerpieces.
