JVctííritg UPCOMING ATTRACTIONS During the months of February and March, the following programs are going to be held, along with the regularly scheduled programs. Residents and families will be able to review the weekly events posted on the bulletin board located near each Nursing Station and Activity Room. Schedule in newsletter is subject to change, due to scheduling of programs being done several months in advance. FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS Tuesday, 2nd: Will the Groundhog see his shadow? Happy Groundhog Day!! Come to the Groundhog Party and Social and learn about Punxistauny Phil! Wednesday, 3rd: Health Support Group will meet at 2:00 p.m. in the Solarium. This month's subject will be the Heart. We'll discuss high blood pressure, strokes, heart attacks, etc. February is also known as National Heart Month. Thursday, 4th: Resident Council will be held at 2:00 p.m. VFW Bingo will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Dining Room. Monday, 8th: In honor of National Pizza Month, a cooking class will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon for you to make your own pizza. Tuesday, 9th: In honor of our nominees for King and Queen of Hearts, a Sweetheart Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Residents having spouses will also be invited to attend. Invitations to the event will be sent out. Watch for details. Friday, 12th: A Valentines' Party celebration will be held, along with the crowning of the King and Queen of Hearts, at 2:00 p.m. in the Dining Room. Entertainment will be provided by the Blair Elton Band. Come and join in on the fun. * Sunday, 14th: Happy Valentine's Day everyone! In honor of Valentine's Day, a coffee hour and romantic film fest will be held in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Monday, 15th: President's Day...A special discussion will be held on Presidents, along with a film clip discussion. Tuesday, 16th: In honor of Chinese New Year starting today, a luncheon will be held, serving nothing but Chinese takeout. Can you use chopsticks? Wednesday, 17th: Ash Wednesday...Catholic residents will be receiving ashes today. There will also be a Hymn Sing at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Johns. All are welcome to attend. Thursday, 18th: Outing scheduled, weather permitting. Friday, 26th: February Birthday Party will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Dining Room. MARCH HIGHLIGHTS Thursday, 11th: Lawrence Welk's Birthday is today. A social and music review of some of his favorite shows will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Solarium. Friday, 12th: In honor of National Flower Day, a floral class will be held at 2:00 p.m. Come make a wreath or arrangement for your room. Watch for details. Wednesday, 17th: Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
