MOTHER'S KITCHEN I remember Mother's kitchen In the days of long ago... Starched white curtains at the windows, Red geraniums in a row, Wooden icebox in a corner, Braided rug upon the floor, Mother's apron and a sweater On a hook behind the door. Big black stove was always crowded With huge pots of home-cooked food; From the oven came the fragrance Of fresh bread, so warm and good I can still see Mother sitting In her little favorite chair, With her mending and her knitting, Fixing things for us to wear. Of the many rooms we lived in, Mother's kitchen was the best. Here her duties were accomplished; Here was where she fed her guest. I would gladly trade my kitchen With its labor saving ways To go back to Mother's kitchen As it was in other days. The staff extends their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the following former Residents.
