I'm sure by the time it gets here we'll be complaining of the heat, and we'll be wishing for Fall weather. Even though we weren't able to get out and about much with the weather, we managed to keep the Residents busy. Hungarian Freedom Day was celebrated on March 15th with a traditional luncheon held in the afternoon. The wearin' of the green is always fun. Staff as well as Residents became Irish on March 17th. We celebrated with entertainment provided by the Gene Peterson Band, and the hit of the party was green beer. Needless to say, everyone had green tongues by the end of the afternoon. A fun time was had by all. One of the most enjoyable programs was some local talent provided by violin and cello students called Strings and Things. They put on a beautiful program. As always, the Residents enjoyed attending the Spring Craft Show. They like watching all the people and enjoy coming in for the luncheon special of the day! EASTER PARADE One of my most favorite activity programs held during the year is the Easter Egg Hunt. To see our Residents enjoy themselves with this you'd think they were in their second childhood. Also, it gives the activity staff a chance to act a little crazy. Specially designed rabbit hats were given to each Resident to put them in the spirit. Prizes were also hidden, and a social was held after. I've never seen our Residents move those wheelchairs so fast when it came time to gather the eggs. It was a fun time for all!
