WELCOME SPRING!!! Residents, as well as Staff, will be looking forward to the upcoming Spring months and the warm weather. We all seem to be experiencing a little cabin fever. This winter has been our coldest yet, and we have also had a large amount of snowfall the last several months! Activities were also limited for several weeks due to many of our residents having the flu and colds. Things finally seem to be returning to normal, and we’re finally getting back into a routine with our programs. The residents have already started working on craft items for ourSpring Craft Show, which will beheld in March. Listed below are special events to be held during the months of March, April, and May. Families are welcome to join in on the fun with us. Work! Work! Work! Resident Pete Marrietta has been helping to prepare for the upcoming Spring Craft Show. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR MARCH: In honor of Women’s History Month, aspecial discus­sion will be held on Friday the 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Solarium. Topic: Famous Women in History. Wednesday, the 9th, the Valley School of Ligonier will visit and do a storytelling session, starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Dining Room. The Spring Craft Show will be held on Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th, in the Solarium, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days. Residents and families are welcome to attend. Come see our Spring and Easter items! Hungarian Revolution Day is celebrated on Tuesday the 15th. A church service will be held in honor of this day, starting at 10:30 a.m. in the Solarium. An after­noon party celebration will be held in the Dining Room, starting at 1:30 p.m. Also, the Dietary Depart­ment will be preparing aspecial luncheon of Hungar­ian Ethnic Foods. Thursday, the 17th, “The Wearin’ of the Green” will be permitted for staff in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. So, dig out those special shirts and green slacks. A party celebration will be held forthe residents in the Dining Room at 1:30 p.m., with entertainment and a special treat of green beer!! What concentration! Resident Sue Wargo enjoys doing ceramics. In honor of American Chocolate Week, we will be having a Dessert Party on Thursday the 24th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Solarium. Friday the 25th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Solarium, we will be celebrating the Monthly Birthday Party. Tuesday the 29th, egg coloring will be done in the afternoon. Can you believe it’s going to be Easter soon! Thursday the 31 st, our Easter Celebration will be held in the afternoon at 1:30 in the Dining Room. Entertain­ment to be provided by Riggy and Lavelle. Also, watch for special dates for our annual Easter Egg Hunt and our Easter Bingo. Details to be posted on bulletin boards.
