Box 657, Ligonier, PA 15658-0657 SUMMER ISSUE SPRING’S FINALLY ARRIVED Needless to say, I feel I can speak for most everyone that Spring is a wonderful sight and we won’t miss those snowflakes for awhile. Two of the most favored spots here at the Bethlen Home are the patios on both first and second floors. The residents, as well as staff, take advantage of the warm weather. But, beyond being a relaxing area, the scenery is quite beautiful, especially during the Spring and Summer seasons. Last Fall, several of the residents, along with Activity Assistant Ann Woodall, worked very hard in planting bulbs. This Spring, they were able to enjoy the beautiful tulips, daffodils, etc. Presently, the azaleas and rhododendron bushes are blooming. This also tells our residents that it’s time to start our plant boxes and garden. Several residents, along with Elizabeth Toth (pictured at right), worked very hard at preparing the planters. This year’s choice was pansies and strawberry plants. The maintenance department also worked very hard in getting the furniture set up. So, it looks as though it will be time to start our cookouts. Thanks, everyone, for your hard work and green thumbs! Pictured: Resident Elizabeth Toth shows off one of the planters she helps to care for during the summer months.
