Details will be posted weekly on the bulletin boards located near each Nursing Station. MARCH In honor of National Pancake Month, a special brunch will be held on Thursday the 5th. Guess what the main course will be!!! A special poetry corner day will be held on Friday the 13th. Residents are encouraged to bring a favorite short story or poem for discussion. In honor of the Hungarian Revolution Day on the 15th, a special church service will be held, along with a special luncheon of Hungarian favorites following the service. Details will be posted. A special dress up week will be held during the week of the 15th to the 21st in honor of Hungarian Revolution Day and Saint Patrick’s Day. A special Saint Patrick’s Day celebration will be held on the 17th. Yes, we will be serving green beer! Ligonier Junior High School Adopt A Grandparent Program will be holding an Irish Party for the adopted residents on the 18th. A special discussion will be held on the 20th on famous women in history. The Family Support Group meeting will be held on Tuesday the 24th. This month’s topic is Nutrition in the Elderly with Dietary Consultant Beverly Snyder as the speaker. March’s Birthday Party will be held on Friday the 27th. APRIL Bethlen Home’s Third Annual Spring and Easter Craft Show will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 3rd and 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Families and friends are welcome to attend. A special dress code week will be held from the 12th to the 19th in honor of Easter. Pastel colors will be permitted to be worn. Special Easter programs such as egg coloring, Easter Egg Hunt, the Easter story, etc. will be held during the week of the 12th. Details will be posted by each Nursing Station. The Easter Bunny will be paying a visit with a few added surprises on the 16th. National Volunteer Recognition Week will be celebrated the week of the 26th. A special luncheon and award ceremony will be held. Details will be given to volunteers on a closer date. MAY Sunshine Brothers Clothing Wagon will be visiting the home on Tuesday the 5th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Dining Room. Residents are welcome to attend. A special Mother’s Day Luncheon will be held on Friday the 8th. Details to be posted. In honor of National Nursing Home Week and Older Americans Month, a special trip to Hong Kong is planned along with some fun activities during the week of the 10th. Watch for details............. Weather permitting, our first cookout of the season will be held on the 22nd in honor of Memorial Day. “Congratulations” to Janie, JoAnn, C. J.. Nancy, Cherrie, Lydia, Debbie and Mary for a job well done in surviving the State Surveyors. NATIONAL NURSES’ DAY A special celebration and award ceremony is planned to honor our Nursing Staff here at Bethlen Home during National Nurses’ Week. May 4th through the 11 th. Details will be given to each nurse. This year’s theme is “Teamwork That Shines.” We would like to take this opportunity to “Thank” our special “Caregivers” for their dedication and hard work with our residents, especially during these trying times in health care.
