I PRESENTS ■■H UJ PATIENTS PRESENTS ELÜT PATIENTS PRESENTS PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS 1991 CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN The Bethlen Home will be participating once again in the 1991 PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS CAMPAIGN. Our hope is to encourage the public as well as family and friends of the Bethlen Home to participate in this worthwhile cause. This project is to help make the public aware of the many lonely patients in long term care facilities in Western Pennsylvania that have been forgotten during the holiday season. Co-sponsored by the St. Barnabas Charitable Foundation and WPXI-TV the PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS program was able to collect over 10,000 gifts in 1990. This made a very special moment in these resident's lives. According to Sherry Humbertson, Activity Director of the Bethlen Home, "many of our residents have outlived family and friends. Christmas is a lonely time for any resident in a long-term care facility. The residents long for companionship and feel very special when they are remembered." The Activity Department encourages community and family members to share in the program by becoming a PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS sponsor. The interested donor should complete the form listed below. The form will then be matched with a resident here at Bethlen Home. You, the donor, will then receive a card noting the resident's name, age, sex and gift wishes. The donor may shop for this resident, wrap and deliver the gift personally if desired. If you are unable to do so and would still like to donate, you may send a cash donation and a volunteer will purchase and deliver the gifts for you. Community groups and businesses may become sponsors by adopting several residents or by displaying posters and donor cards in their place of business.
