Fraternity I Testvériség Ethan James Mount — Branch 52 am 19 years old. I was born and raised in Norwalk, CT and I am now a sophomore studying at University of Connecticut. F.ver since I was ver\ young. I have had my mind set on going to l IC'onn and w hen I opened 8BWP^SJmMBIB8W! my acceptance letter on Christmas Eve, no other present could top that. I am currently entering my second semester as a sophomore and just found out that 1 made the Dean's H list for last semester. Up until now, I was undecided as to what major I wanted to declare. 1 have just recently decided to declare a Communications major since language and communication patterns are very interesting t0 me-I am also interested in public speaking skills and gaining an education on how to be a representative Y Afc °f a major company. I was baptized, attended Sunday school classes and got confirmed through the Calvin \ Reformed Church in Norwalk, CT. During the summer and winter breaks, I work full time at my father’s distribution company in Milford, CT and part time at an auto service station located in Norwalk, CT. Working at both of these places has taught me a lot and has helped me to develop and improve my social skills as well as my people skills. Recommended by Mrs. Suzanne Virgulák, Branch Manager Justin Street — Branch 227 attend Hiram College, which is a small liberal arts college in Northeast Ohio. This college has given me a very strong education in both the classroom and in life. I majored in Biology at Hiram College which I plan to use to become a high school life science teacher. To achieve my career goal of being a future educator, I will be applying to graduate school where I will earn a Master’s degree in education along with my licensure. Other than the classroom, I performed many other activities while at Hiram College. I was a four-year letter winner for the Hiram College Baseball Team, in which I served as a captain for the past two years. I earned All-Conference accolades in the North Coast Athletic Conference in two of the four years at Hiram. Off the baseball field, I was hired as part of Hiram College Community Council. This is a non-paid position where Hiram students are part of a judicial board that hears cases on student misconduct on campus and issues proper sanctions for the offense. Some of the cases that are commonly heard deal with underage drinking or vandalism. The Event Staff was another activity I took part in at Hiram College. The Event Staff is responsible for setting up and working at athletic events, which include soccer, football, basketball, swimming and softball. I attended the Apple Conference at the University of Virginia representing Hiram College athletics. The Apple Conference was to increase awareness of underage drinking and alcohol abuse on college campuses. Athletes attend this conference to try and brainstorm ways to help this problem on their campuses. Hiram College gave me a unique chance to perform many functions, be part of NCAA athletics, and to get an exceptional education. Recommended by Mrs. Margaret Nicholas, Branch Manager Louis M. Bruno — Branch 501 am currently a senior at Rutgers University in New Brunswick working towards my bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering expecting to graduate this spring with high honors. I have already been accepted into the Rutgers graduate program where I plan on getting my Masters in solid mechanics, materials and structures while also taking material science courses at the Picatinny Arsenal. But even with my academic record, I have made it a point to stay involved and push myself outside of the classroom. I am a member of professional groups like ASME and SAE as well as the national engineering honors society (Pi Tau Sigma). For the last few years, I have also been the project manager for the Rutgers solar car team and an active member of the outdoors club. This summer, I was even lucky enough to find an internship that allowed me to work in the pharmaceutical field in Massachusetts. And now with classes in full swing, I have transferred to the New Jersey office so that I can work part-time during the school year and keep gaining real life experience in my field. Before I graduated high school, I was also able to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout. Nowadays, as an Eagle Scout, I still try to keep active in my old boy scout troop with the various projects and events around town. I also still try to be involved with my church’s youth group events and activities whenever I can help. Over the last year, I volunteered time to work at pancake breakfasts and car washes in order to raise money for our church’s annual ASP trip to travel to Appalachia and rebuild houses for the underprivileged, a trip that I have made many times in the past. Even though my undergraduate career is almost over, I plan on staying involved in all of these areas while continuing to stay diligent with my schoolwork into my graduate studies.
