She is a sophomore at California University of Pennsylvania and her major is nursing. Amber has an overall GPA of a 3.5, and she has also made the Dean’s List her first two semesters at California University of PA. On campus, she is involved in numerous activities. During her freshman year, she was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta. Alpha Lambda Delta is a national collegiate honor society. As a member, she must obtain a 3.2 GPA each semester, and she is also required to complete one community service project per semester and also one career service project through the Career Service Program at the university. Amber is also a sister of the Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Sigma Kappa is very dedicated to the national philanthropies of the Alzheimer’s Association, The Maine Seacoast Mission, and Gerontology (the study of aging). Amber is also involved in peer mentoring at California University of PA. She has two freshman protégés who have the same major as she. As a mentor, she must help and assist with anything they may need or any questions they may have. Amber’s future plans are to obtain a BSN and an MSN in nursing and to either become a pediatric nurse or further her education and become a nurse anesthetist. She is also looking into obtaining an Aging Specialist Certificate. This certificate is offered by the university and one can obtain it through the Gerontology Department at California University of PA. —Amber was recommended by Mrs. Olga Darnay 22
