BRANCH NEWS TOZSER FAMILY BRANCH 227 - Warren, OH BILL AND MARGE NICHOLAS 50TH GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, 1958-2008 Bill and Marge Nicholas of Warren, Ohio celebrated their 50th Anniversary on December 21, 2008, by renewing their marriage vows on the ocean front at Surfside Beach, South Carolina, with Pastor Kendall Williams. The couple’s children, Alex Nicholas of Pawleys Island, South Carolina and daughter Victoria Lytle of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina held a surprise dinner party at the Holiday Inn Ocean Front Resort for family and friends. Bill and Marge were married December 21, 1958 at the Second Presbyterian Church of Warren and continue as members of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Warren. Bill was a high school teacher for 21 years in Trumbull County. Marge is a homemaker who loves to cook and bake. She worked for the Hearing Aid Center of Ohio in Howland. The couple enjoy traveling and spending time with their five granddaughters. FOOD FOR NEEDY Each Sunday, members of HRFA together with the members of the Covenant Church of Warren, Ohio bring food items to be given to the Warren Rescue Mission, which distributes the food to the needy families who live in our area. CHURCH SPONSORS YOUTH FROM ECUADOR The Covenant Presbyterian Church of Warren has an offering by members of the church and members from HRFA to sponsor Brayan Lema, a young boy from Ecuador. The offering is done the first Sunday of each month, which provides a daily hot meal, basic medical care, new shoes and clothing for Brayan. Mrs. Margaret Nicholas, Branch 227 Manager and Fraternal Administrator BRANCH 198 - Ligonier, PA, Bethlen Communities The Cultural Center recently participated in an “Fggstravaganza" in Uniontown, PA. We were part of over 15 exhibits displaying various Easter items. Our information on HRFA/ Bethlen Communities and Hungarian Easter customs was well received. On May 15-16, Bethlen Communities participated in a 24- hour Relay for Life event in Ligonier, PA. Our teams were able to donate over $3000 for the American Cancer Society. Pet Armel, Branch 198 Manager BRANCH 300 - Washington, DC HRFA Branch 300 received several tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 13, 2009. One recipient was the Tozser family, a long-time HRFA member. Attila Tozser and his children, Adam and Anna, are seen here enjoying the many activities on the White House lawn which were hosted by the President and his family. 12 SUMMER 2009
