HOME OFFICE NEWS HOME OFFICE NEWS Notice to all o ur members: the HRFA Board of Directors increased the In Memoriam donation of $35 to $50 at their last Board meeting. HRFA MODERNIZES PREMIUM COLLECTION By HRFA Treasurer Doug Eckley Great news for members of HRFA. You can now choose among several options for paying membership dues: Credit card - Automated debit to a bank account - Check This is a dramatic advancement in the quality of service provided to our members. The Home Office team worked long and hard on this project to make it possible. This process began when HRFA President Les Megyeri with the approval of the Board of Directors gave the go-ahead to the project back in January of 2008. After that, he coordinated and oversaw the process to its completion. Those members who have availed themselves of this service have given it nothing but “rave-reviews.” HRFA Secretary Vera Bjurstrom kicked off the project by researching proper procedures and making appropriate arrangements with PNC bank and the credit card issuers. Then Melinda Trinfuly, Petra Fehérvári and Kati Levay-Nagy worked on the communications aspects and made suggestions as to when and how to communicate with policyholders. They drafted the documents that spread the good news to members and the system began. HRFA Treasurer Doug Eckley updated the database to store the new information and generate reports categorizing premium receipts by payment method. So far, a significant number of our members have elected one of these modem ways to pay membership dues, and other fraternal benefit societies are trying to get on board as well to replicate HRFA’s new and streamlined premium payment policy. The successful completion of this project shows the dedication of the Home Office staff to providing service to the members. It also shows how a coordinated effort within the Home Office can lead to positive results. The spirit of fraternalism and teamwork is alive at HRFA, all to the benefit of its members. • CHECK PAYMENT: You may continue to pay by check as in the past. • DIRECT DEBIT PAYMENT: The authorization form for direct recurring premium payment from your bank is mailed with your premium notice or you may request a form by calling the Home Office. • CREDIT CARD PAYMENT: To pay by credit card, please call the Home Office. NEW WEBSITE By Robert Kovács The HRFA has launched a new, exciting website with new capabilities. We have been modernizing our operation over the past few months and are excited to introduce some of the new offerings. Our newly designed website includes featured news of the Federation as well as the latest Branch News. Our “Upcoming Events” feature allows us to distribute the latest goings-on in the Hungarian-American Community. In our new HRFA blog, we comment on some of the latest issues facing the Hungarian-American community (in Hungarian) and invite all interested parties to comment. Finally, Our Hungarian Community News lets us share the latest news from all the other organizations in and around the community. NEW PROGRAM By Robert Kovács Another new online feature is the Testvériség (Fraternity) Program. As a Fraternal Benefit Society, the HRFA remains committed to supporting the Hungarian American community. Each and every day, the important work of the community is done by volunteers at our churches, schools and other organizations. The Testvériség Program seeks to help bring together the many individuals who would like to support these initiatives and the programs that are looking for donors. The program allows you to donate to the Hungarian charity of your choice on either an ongoing or a one time basis. Check out the Testvériség Program link for more details. FRATERNITY - TESTVÉRISÉG 5
