Csilla Csépke My name is Csilla Csépke and I live in Hungary, in Budapest, with my mother and my sister. I am learning Hungarian language and literature at Károli Gáspár Református Egyetem (Gáspár Karoli Reformed University). According to my plans, after graduating here as a Master of Arts, I would like to learn Psychology at the same campus as well. Beside my studies, I work as a mentor for Katapult Mentorprogram (www.mentorhalo.hu). This is a foundation that gives a chance to disadvantaged students, living in poverty. I help the integration of two first-year students; we arrange their registration together, I show them how the system works, where can they buy books and class-notes, and so on. If they have any question, they can call me and of course we meet at the university as well. I am proud to be a member of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. Thank you for your help in furthering my education. Csilla was recommended by Branch Manager Sara Nagy. Andrew J. Mihalcin I am a junior at Allegheny College, majoring in Environmental Studies. Following my undergraduate studies, I plan to continue studying the field of Health, Safety, and the Environment at the graduate level. With that background, I am aspiring to have a career working to achieve maximum worker safety at the workplace and will strive to install sustainable environmental practices wherever I am employed. I am very involved with my local community at school. As a member of the Allegheny College football team 1 have participated in a number of community service activities. This includes fixing up local parks, assisting in fundraising activities for furthering the research of diseases such as cancer, and acting as a mentor to young children in the community. I am also an active member of the Healthy Homes, Healthy Children outreach program. We visit local schools and public venues and present both children and parents with useful information as to how they can make their home environments as safe and healthy as is possible. When I was in high school I had the honor of becoming acquainted with Joe Fabri through the wrestling team. I enjoyed having Joe as a wrestling coach and mentor and soon became a member of the Hungarian Reformed Federation. Joe’s work ethic and Christian values have been a great influence on me and have taught me valuable life lessons. I would like to thank Joe for recommending me for the scholarship, as well as the HRFA for this generous contribution that will assist me in furthering my studies. Andrew was recommended by Director Joe Fabri. Rachel Morgan Hello, my name is Rachel Morgan. I am currently a sophomore at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am a hard working student that occupies my time to my studies and work. I am a double major; my first major is Art Studio, with a concentration in Painting and Graphic Design, and my second major is History. My minor is Art History. I find that having a double major is more challenging but is an equal balance between thinking artistically and analyzing Fraternity - Testvériség - Summer 2008 17
