the week included our annual visit to the Bethlen Home, where we meet with elderly members of that community to talk, go for walks, and especially to sing to them, and Friday evening’s Communion Service. We invite any interested members with children be­tween the ages of 12 and 18 to join us for camp next year, July 20-26, 2008. Attila Poznan Kristina Poznan Branch #300 Commemorates Anniversary of 1848 Hungarian Revolution By Kathy A. Megyeri On Friday evening, March 14th, at the Kossuth House in Washington, DC, Branch # 300 commemorated the anniversary of the 1848 Hungarian Revolution with poetry, music, and refreshments. Dual poems were re­cited by Branch President Atilla Kocsis and member László Korossy. A keyboard recital was performed by Zoltán Feher, Press Attache of the Hungarian Embassy. Branch #300's newest member, Paul Kamenar, accompa­nied Feher on his accordion, while his daughter played the tambourine. The well-attended event’s participants sang along to “Talpra Magyar, hi a haza! Itt as ido, most vagy soha! Ez a kérdés, válasszatok! A Magyarok istenere Esküszünk, Esküszünk, hogy rabok tovább Nem leszünk!” Branch member Tamas Hollo, whose birthday was also that day, was recognized by the audience. Many left the event that evening complimenting the young people in attendance and the audience participation that made the Commemo­ration such a special evening.
