sure, will appreciate it when the time comes. Q: What is the value of this insurance policy to you and your family? A: It not only offers me peace of mind but I feel I have a stake in an American company with Hungarian ties. Q: Other than owning this policy, what benefits do you derive from membership in HRFA? A: The magazine Fraternity is colorful, entertaining reading every time I receive it because I feel connected to others like me. It is also always a heart-warming experience to hear Hungarian spoken in D.C. when I visit the Home Office to attend fraternal activities and meet other Branch 300 members. Home Office staff members like Erika Mason are always helpful and really welcome me. From a business point of view, HRFA membership gave me the chance to meet highly relevant and substantial people, either on the client or the professional side. Having common Hungarian roots is a very good talking point when I meet others or want to establish business connections. Q: What advice would you give to others who are considering purchasing a life insurance policy from HRFA? A: Don’t underestimate your future needs. Be honest with yourself and answer the question, “What level of support will I need?” Then choose a plan that gives you adequate financial backup. Don’t fool yourself: there is no such thing as a free lunch, and I am well aware of life’s unexpected surprises, both personally and in business. Q: Why do you recommend HRFA to others? A: From my point of view, HRFA is the first-and- foremost choice for everyone with Hungarian roots. 1 know of no other fraternal (or any other) institution that has such high level of cultural and educational activity in the field of preserving our Hungarian heritage. From a merely financial point of view, HRFA is a dependable and conservative life insurance company. Q: How important is it to you to purchase from a company that supports the Hungarian language, culture, and religious traditions of Hungarians in America? A: We are all humans and we have to know about our roots to live successfully in t.he future. One may think that life insurance is a purely fiscal matter, but it doesn’t have to be. HRFA is a very good example of blending the “heart and mind,” bringing together people in need with people who are willing to give, which is just one more reason to feel proud of being a Hungarian. Q: What is the impact of purchasing from a faith -based (religious) organization as opposed to a commercial company? A: Faith-based organizations have the additional gravity of bringing together people with similar beliefs. They also have the image of better morale and higher ethical standards that help build a firmer level of client confidence. Q: Why do you intend to take advantage of the scholarships HRFA offers children of its members? A: Why not? I firmly believe that my children will benefit from the scholarships as it gives them additional support and motivation to do their best. The program will also broaden their insights and give them some reference to the “bigger world” that exists beyond their childhood horizon. Q: How important is it to you that the Kossuth House is located in the nation’s capital? A: Very. Walking through the door makes me proud because HRFA is located in the U.S. Capital, clearly one of the most prestigious places in the world. The metro system is conveniently right at the doorstep of the building, making daily business or weekend access very easy. It is an emotional issue as well: you know this is the headquarters of one of the oldest fratemals in this country, so naturally, more respect is given to such an organization. Q: Were you impacted by the fact that HRFA has been around for over 100 years and its charter was signed by President Theodore Roosevelt? A: Being in existence for over a century is definitely the best pedigree a financial institution may ever have. Its age and long-standing gives it a sense of continuity and builds trust, which is very important for me. Q: Comment on the personnel and quality of service you receive from the Home Office of HRFA. A: Everyone I’ve met has been very nice and helpful. I count some of them as more than HRFA personnel, 10 Fraternity - Testvériség - Summer 2008
