The CFO spoke about emphasizing our common bond (Hungarian and church bond), which is one of the reasons fratemals were given tax exemption. Our National Fraternal Coordinator spoke about how she used our fraternal activities and presence at Hungarian events to build brand recognition and sales, and recruit new agents. One key is that we are not competing on price, although we are competitive but by emphasizing our common bond. She delivered the news that Peggi Fabri had received NFCA MVP honors and that she and her husband were given a trip to Washington, D.C. Other recognition of our fratemalists included Zita Horvath and Zsuzsa Szikora who received kudos for their PR and organizational work at the Orlando Easter celebration. Next came a showing of the HRFA sponsored DVD about the original newscasts of the 1956 revolution and subsequent newscasts. A surprising result of this showing was that some young Hungarians at the meeting, who grew up in Hungary, mentioned that they were never taught in Hungarian schools about the atrocities committed by the Soviets and some AVO Hungarians pre 1956. The last item of the district meeting was a review of the new sales process and data collection form a consultant developed. Many participants thanked us at the end for the openness and friendliness of the NJ District Meeting. Rev. Business was slow at first once the tent was up. Later in the early afternoon the weather started to improve and more participants came to the festival, and then it started to pick up as the weather improved and more participants stop by to talk about their insurance questions and to pick up brochures, magnets, cookbooks and 1956 DVDs. n yl956 'HUNGARY <?033ti* some dressed in Hungarian costumes, playing instruments, singing, while others like us proudly carrying our HRFA banner. We were all lucky that the rain decided to wait until the end of the parade, but as the organizers and honor guests speeches began, so began the rain. As HRFA provides monetary support to events such as the festival, Prof. August Molnár, President of the Hungarian American Foundation and one of the organizers, was thoughtful by way of announcing our presence at the podium and pointing to the HRFA banner we had marched with.
